Dell 24" HC Monitor

Hi Iv just ordered a replacement of my Dell 24" monitor which had the tilting problem when locked into the horizontal position. I have a feeling that the replacement will have the same problem. Has anyone here had the same problem which has had a replacement thats resolved the problem? Thanks.

NiKRuLeZ,

You should be able to straighten the tilting out?? I did on mine.

What tiling? Basically its already locked into the horizontal position, but its still tilting on the right side which is noticable. I cannot at all turn it to the left as it doesnt turn that way. Iv i hold the tilting side with my hand its perfetly straight, but without the support it really does look wonky. I think the design/manufacturing team have messed up with the stand, as iv seen most people who have bought the 24" complain about this. I really hope the replacement i get doesnt have the same exact problem, as this would be a real time waste.

I've got the same problem with mine, the difference between left and right side is 2 millimiters right after I rotate the monitor, but then it becomes 4 after some time and already noticeable.

Hi, my replacement arrived and have set it up, and guess what, exactly the same thing :|

Nearly everyone I know with the HC has this problem, I just dont know what to do. I looked at the stand alone before attaching it on to the monitor and you can see that its not exactly straight, let alone the full weight of the screen sitting on it.

What should one do about this???

All,

I took a carpenter bupple level and checked my desk (slightly unlevel), and then the monitor (slightly unlevel). I then pushed up on the bottom right corner of the monitor to level it out using a carpenter bupple leveler. Any time I knock against the table the monitor goes unlevel. For this issue I would not consider replacing the monitor. As a last result, you may loosen the 4 screws holding the stand to the bracket, level the monitor, retighten the screws. In my opinion, way too much trouble for such a minor issue.

You reckon loosening the screws/retighten will definately work?

* Nope. Just something to try.

Right well, did exactly what you told me to do, and it actually seems to work. (NOw my monitor sits perfectly straight :D) I think in the manufacturing process the automated computers they may use on the factory belt line may be getting the angles wrong lol

Good thought. By the way, a 4mm tilt is within our manufacturer specifications.
